Designer Olivier Theyskens was highlighting the idea of futurism for this fall. The collection is very structured and simple yet edgy. Materials that has been used to presents the spacey idea like quilting from spacesuits also playing around with volume especially for dresses, so it looks like they are practically floating. Its interesting to see that Theyskens used to design ball gowns and haute couture. However, the designer commented that in order to feel confident it does not have to look sexy. With this series it kind of suggested us not to try so hard to look sexy. The silhouette for this season was the oversize look with a touch of slouchy tailoring. It reminds us the era of Kubricks: 2001 Space Odyssey in more post-modern way of interpretation. (Text Dinta Jakile)
