Celebrating the Asian phenomenon. Today, Asia is a land of opportunity where everything is bigger and faster, a place bursting with endless energy and countless ideas. We look at how emerging Asian countries have flourished and become the world’s most lucrative market within the past decade. We sample new artistries and contemporary aesthetics that are products of the countries’ consumerist culture paired with technologies such as the internet, and end our story with an illusory tale of echoing the riches.
Acknowledging the significance of Asia in influencing the fashion industry, we invite our contributors in Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Jakarta to interpret the Asian phenomenon, from their different perspectives.
The time has arrived for us to know evaluate the way we live today, identify our roots, be proud and accept the uniqueness of Asian culture and then to convey it as we see fit. We hope this issue will leave you with a bigger picture of how Asia learns from its limitations and embrace its strengths and ambitions.
