Editor’s Pick: Lickstudio Fall 2017 RTW is an ode to a typical farmyard and countryside feel, a modern interpretation of the old-school farm girl.
Local brand Lickstudio returns with their second collection, featuring vibrant signature pieces ranging from clothing pieces to accessories. The Fall Winter Collection entitled FRESHEGG is an ode to a typical farmyard and countryside feel, a feeling and yearning the designers have had amid the sprawling metropolis of Jakarta city, a place they call home.
Everything ruffles, long-sleeved and oversized smears the collection, more of a modern and presentable interpretation of the old-school farm girl look complete with the practical pocket details and unrestricted silhouettes. The garments are added extra volume and appeal through the use of extra stitching details, overlapping ruffles, small dainty bows as well as stark silver boots.
The clothing pieces of the collection also vary in textiles, predominantly with gingham checks and light denim for better contrast, texture and relevance to the countryside theme.
The simple yet elegant-looking two-piece denim spaghetti strapped top and pant is subtle in femininity and intricate at the same time. The red stitching details on the seams as well as the delicate ruffles on the top’s strap give the piece statement, hinting a bit of color and detail.
Another piece that caught our attention is the gingham checkered two-piece top and pants looking very modern and chic for a farm girl look. The sleeve details of the ruffles give it a voluminous look, making it a little more playful and feminine, without being too overdone. The red stitches on the seams also add extra color, detail and highlight to the checkered gingham. (Text Beata Primana)
