Marischka Prudence on the perks of traveling. An avid traveler, Marischka Prudence is busy globetrotting with her essential travel items.

Getting paid to visit wonderful places around the world is probably too good to be true, but it is actually true. Being a full-time travel blogger, arguably the best job to ever exist, Marischka Prudence, or Prue for short, is living the best life. One of the most memorable life advices that she has ever received was to “do what you love, love what you do. Either both ways or compromise by choosing one and life will feel better,” and it seems that she’s been following it ever since.

Raised in an easygoing environment and family with more liberal views than some, Prue and her siblings have been thought to be independent since they were younger, and to always think wisely about the consequences of everything that they were going to do. Grateful for how her family educated and nurtured her, Prue confessed that she turned up the way she is now mainly because of that. A free-spirited, happy-go-lucky woman who’s not afraid to stand up for herself. That carefree disposition is then mirrored through her career as a travel blogger.

Being a travel blogger wasn’t on her list in the first place. Working as a TV reporter in a company with a fixed hour was her main job before she encountered her true penchant for writing and traveling. She began her travel escapades the moment she acquired a diving license from the office and had to help out the travel channel section whenever there is an under-the-sea coverage. A friend suggested the idea of writing about her trips in a form of a blog, and Prue did just that. Enjoyed the change of view and pace, not long after that, she decided to resign and go all-in on blogging.

“Travel does make one modest – the beauty of seeing what a tiny place one occupies in the world.” – Marischka Prudence

Traveling brings a whole lot of changes, memories and new experiences for Prue. Meeting new people from around the world and being inspired by them are some of the best parts about the job. She always prefers to really mingle and connect with the locals whenever she ventures to a new place. “Sometimes when I go to the really remote islands in Indonesia, I would always make time to meet and spend time with the locals. Seeing them, how they interact with each other, how they live their life daily, it makes you feel more grateful and down-to-earth. It is really important to look in the mirror and zoom out to see the bigger picture, that happiness is actually really simple. It’s not as complex as we made it out to be.” Prue thinks that “travel does make one modest – the beauty of seeing what a tiny place one occupies in the world.”

Doesn’t feel like a work, traveling became more of a necessity for Prue. Being spontaneous and fearless are some of the main requirements to become a travel blogger, as the unexpected would always be expected to come up when adventuring. Prue is no exception to the unwritten rule, she would always prepare beforehand and try to think wisely on how to pack smartly, like what kind of essential items to bring. Travel kits are something to take into account when packing, but an outfit can truly make or break an entire vacation. As she travels to different countries with different climates and cultures, clothes with different purposes are always on her to-pack list.

Fashion is an integral part of traveling. Booking a trip is only half of the equation, and the next crucial step to think of when traveling to different places is the wardrobe. Prue has always been into fashion and she values comfort the most. She describes her fashion style as colorful and playful. Jumping from one country to another forced her to adapt more in styling her travel outfits and in choosing the right pieces.

“I tend to share about what I wear during my trips on social media, and I want people to know that dressing up when you travel is a fun thing to do. Clothes that support your travel needs don’t have to look boring!” – Marischka Prudence

Her passion in travel and fashion let her to always be in the lookout for functional clothes that would accommodate all her traveling needs. But then, she discovered that UNIQLO just dropped a travel-focused Fall/Winter collection and it has her ready for both seasons. A collection of progressive travel essentials meant for anyone to travel in style.
