Rise: Sarmite Ostanevica ‘Sculpture Wedding’

With her unique contemporary presentation of AW13 collection ‘Sculpture Wedding’ during London Fashion Week, Sarmite Ostanevica is continuing collaborate with other artists to create a new collection lookbook. This time she collaborated with young talented photographer Nhu Xuan Hua.

Sarmite Ostanevica is up and coming independent label based in London and her collections are mostly inspired of art forms. Whether it be paintings, art movement or abstract sources of inspiration, Sarmite try to delivers something unique in it’s simplicity. She has a great understanding of cuts, proportion and silhouette. 

Featured latest collection ‘Sculpture wedding’ AW13 collection drawing inspiration from the classical forms of various sculptures, fabric movement, and the elegant silhouette of a bride, Sarmite Ostanevica uses her love of tailoring and fascination with surrealism to merge the classical form with contemporary style. Her signature pieces are clean and sharp with a surreal edge, complemented by fine detail.

Sarmite studied at Kensington and Chelsea College as well as attending courses in Central St. Martins. Through various experiences she debuted with her first fashion show in Riga, Latvia in November 2010 with her Spring/Summer 2011 collection Feminine Army and was nominated for a Latvian fashion award and was recently nominated for an Association of Colleges (AOC) award by Kensington and Chelsea College.

Since then, she has received an overwhelmingly positive response in each collection and has had her work published in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Flanelle, Papercut, Turn, The Upcoming and others.
