The xx debuts ‘On Hold’ video directed by Alasdair McLellan. Starring American model Ali Michael and London skater Blonde McCoy.
The xx just dropped music video of their newest single On Hold yesterday while fans throughout the world embracing this long awaited moment. Directed by the brilliant British photographer, Alasdair McLellan known as one of the industry’s most feted photographic talents. They decided to film the video in a small town called Marfa in Texas where they wrote and recorded some of their new album. The xx say in a statement, “We have a lot of love and respect for the people of the USA, having played hundreds of shows accross the country over the past years. We hope this video reflects just some of the warmth and acceptance we have encountered there.”
The visual provides the perfect complement to the sound, intersperse glimpses of American teen spirits into the the music video with the right amount of coolness. Starring the American girl next door, Ali Michael as the heartbroken cheerleader and London skater Blondey McCoy, the video flashes random images of teen living their life in a small town in aesthetic way, while Romy, Oliver and Jamie are casually frolicking with each other.
