After skipping the Haute Couture runway last season, Riccardo Tisci is continuing to challenge the rules of couture with Givenchy’s new sweatshirt collab with artist Benjamin Shine. The seemingly unisex black-and-gray piece depicts an abstract Madonna shrouded in light was crafted entirely from one piece of tulle. Reinterpreting Givenchy’s religious iconography prints from the Spring/Summer 2013 Menswear prints collection, Benjamin Shine’s hand-made technique pushes the idea of Givenchy’s signature printed sweatshirts and t-shirts to an ultimate form of expression. These one-of-a-kind pieces will be made-to-order from Givenchy’s Haute Couture salons. (Text Teuku Ajie)
