Tom Ford Spring 2016 Music Video in Reworked Version of 70s Classic. The designer enlisted Nile Rodgers to remake his hit and asked Lady Gaga to add her signature vocals.

Instead of having a traditional fashion show, Tom Ford released a groovy music video starring Lady Gaga and a bevy of models that showcases his party-ready spring 2016 frocks. The groovy tune is a reworked version of 70s classic “I Want Your Love,” Ford enlisted Nile Rodgers to remake his hit song and asked Gaga to add her signature vocals.

The designer, who is currently working on the follow-up to his Oscar-nominated film A Single Man, said he wanted to “try something new”, so staged a full show in LA and filmed all the fun. “Having a runway show has become so much about the creation of imagery for online and social media and watching a filmed fashion show can be like watching a filmed play [which is never very satisfying]. I wanted to think about how to present a collection in a cinematic way that was designed from its inception to be presented online,” says Ford.

The collection is highlighted with sleeveless, party-ready metallic tanks, silver-toned bomber jackets, sharply tailored suiting for men, turtlenecks, animal-print slip dresses, leather polka-dotted dresses, an all-white suit, and a textured silver coat that Gaga marvelously drapes over her shoulders.

This innovative project was directed by Nick Knight along with the perfect cast; Xiao Wen, Aymeline Valade, Valery Kaufman, Kayla Scott, Lida Fox and, of course, Lucky Blue. What more could you ask for? (Text Teuku Ajie)
