The joie de vivre trendsetter in fashion has once again swayed the industry with its identity that establishes the essence of feminine elegance. For their Resort 2015 collection, Chloé has taken a modern twist on Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye, after taking a visit, whereby the source of inspiration that Clare Waight Keller had prompted to contemplate on the dynamic aesthetics. Clean lines and silhouettes, creating a graceful flow that mimicked the atmosphere and soft hues of Villa Savoye, elegantly dominated the line up. The quiet elegant focus that Waight Keller wanted to embody were strongly dominate is what makes the Chloé more femininely undeniable.

Perhaps the most outstanding pieces were the wrap dresses, knotted and tied at the waist, casual yet elegant as ever, along with a baby blue dress embellished with stones on the straps, evoking a modern Grecian goddess. The lineup was filled with oversized proportions, fluidity, color blocking and asymmetric layering, such as oversized cashmere knit top in woven honeycomb-like patterns, bold floral patterns. There were also slouchy tweet tops and lengthy coats with exaggerated lapels, for a more voluminous essence. Waight Keller played proportions seen on the slim fitting tops worn over loose skirts, drifting gracefully. Not forgetting on eveningwear for the more romantic gesture, evening blouses with black fringing, gypsy-like guipure dresses and the floral jacquard embroideries over black gowns.

Out of all the big French fashion houses, Chloé is perhaps the most compassionate in identity, which can be seen through the humble and feminine design aesthetics that Waight Keller conveyed in this Resort 2015. Chloé’s joie de vivre has been revoked on this collection like never been before! (Text Nadilla Sari Ratman)
